G2 Services Provided
- During the geotechnical investigation, the team encountered a large peat and marl deposit within the proposed access drive alignment.
- G2 performed a “rolling surcharge” to squeeze out the peat and marl. The rolling surcharge method consisted of excavating in front of a 30- to 35-foot-high sand pile while moving across the roadway alignment. The peat and marl squeezed out and was removed from the work area. The remaining surcharge pile was used to support the roadway.
Smart. Results. Fast. G2 designed and implemented an innovative geotechnical solution to eliminate challenging subsurface conditions, maintaining project schedule and budget.
